| Galil Motion Control - We Move the World Galil Motion Control, Inc. specializes in providing microprocessor-based motion controllers for the purpose of controlling motors with utmost precision. With over 500,000 motion controllers working worldwide in industries ranging from medical and semiconductors to textiles and material handling, Galil is the recognized pioneer and leader in the industry. Galil is distinguished from all others by providing motion controllers that are powerful, easy-to-use, cost-effective and backed by strong support. "Galil's commitment is to be the leader in providing high-performance, cost-effective, easy-to-use motion controllers that solve real customer problems in the OEM marketplace." Powerful Controllers to Solve Demanding Applications Galil's full line of motion controllers includes single and multi-axis, bus-based and stand-alone, and box-level and card-level controllers. Available interface options include PCI, ISA, PC/104, VME, cPCI, USB, RS232 and Ethernet. Galil's product catalog provides complete specifications and pricing for their full line of motion control products. See "How to Select the Right Motion Controller" for help in choosing the best controller for your application. By using a 32-bit microcomputer, Galil controllers provide high speed performance and handle virtually any mode of motion such as point-to-point positioning, jogging, linear and circular interpolation, contouring, electronic gearing and ecam. Advanced features include program memory with multitasking, uncommitted analog and digital I/O, sinusoidal commutation and dual-loop control. Even with all these sophisticated features, Galil controllers retain the two primary characteristics of all Galil products: ease-of-use and cost-effectiveness. The controller instruction set consists of two-letter, English-like commands and software tools such as GalilTools software-with real-time scope the and ActiveX Toolkit simplify and speed system set-up. Finally, Galil has a 100+ price guarantee assuring you pay the lowest price in the market in quantities of 100 or more. Prices are as low as $100 per axis making it cost-effective for engineers to choose a Galil off-the-shelf solution. World Class Service and Support Assures Your Success Galil's unmatched passion and commitment to motion control is evident with the free technical support that is provided by its highly acclaimed staff of applications engineers. The mission of Galil's experienced Applications Department is to provide prompt and accurate technical assistance to help OEMs successfully deliver their products to market. Our customers regularly comment on the outstanding support they receive (see customer quotes). Galil's technical support team is trained personally by Dr. Jacob Tal , long regarded in the industry as the pioneer and expert in motion control. Dr. Tal is also frequently available to work with you on particularly challenging applications. Galil also provides service from a worldwide network of factory-trained, independent representatives and distributors ready to demonstrate Galil motion controllers and to understand the requirements of your specific applications. They also carry a full line of motors, encoders and drives which are compatible with Galil motion controllers. As an industry service, Galil regularly publishes technical articles , application notes and its quarterly newsletter, ServoTrends. Galil also provides a library of over 20 recorded web-tutorials on motion control subjects such as tuning, motors and drives, and motion programming. The MotionCode Toolkit is Galil's latest on-line tool which provides step-by-step solutions for motion applications and includes actual downloadable code. Live motion control seminars include Galil's popular half-day "Motion Control Made Easy" seminar and 2-day Product Workshop held at Galil. Over 10,000 engineers have attended Galil seminars worldwide over the past twenty years. Galil-A Vendor You Can Trust Galil Motion Control has been at the forefront of motion control technology ever since its founding in 1983 by Jacob Tal, acclaimed author, lecturer and engineer in motion control; and Wayne Baron, an expert in robotics and motion control. Then, Galil introduced the world's first microprocessor-based, single-axis servo motion controller and it hasn't stopped innovating since. In 1987, Galil developed the world's first 3-axis motion controller to perform coordinated motion along 2-D paths. Later, in 1992, Galil was the first to market a 32-bit microprocessor-based controller. In 2002, Galil introduced the DMC-21x3 Ethernet Controller n' Drives which provides high-performance in a small, low-cost package and eliminates the wiring between the controller and drives. In 2005 Galil introduced the Accelera series of super-fast motion controllers based on a powerful RISC-based microprocessor. Located in Rocklin, California, Galil is a privately held company that has maintained profitability for over 87 consecutive quarters. The installed controller base now exceeds 500,000 units. Company Leadership Jacob Tal, Chairman of the Board and Co-Founder Jacob Tal co-founded Galil with Wayne Baron in 1983, and for the first 20 years was President. In July, 2004 Jacob passed the role of President to Wayne and is now chairman of the board. Jacob Tal is an acclaimed author, lecturer, teacher and engineer whose unique approach is based on over 40 years of practical experience in solving problems for numerous companies in motion control. Well respected throughout the industry and by his peers, Dr. Tal has published more than 100 articles on motion control and has authored such books as "Motion Control by Microprocessors," "Motion Control Applications" and "Step-by-Step Design of Motion Control Systems". Dr. Tal was formerly a professor at the University of Utah and also received a BSEE from the Technion University in Israel and a Ph.D from the University of Minnesota. Wayne Baron, President and Co-Founder Wayne Baron co-founded Galil and for the past 20 years has led the design and development of Galil's innovative motion control products as VP of Engineering. In July, 2004 Wayne assumed the role of President of Galil. Prior to his founding of Galil with Jacob, Wayne was Project Manager of Robotics at Hewlett Packard's central research lab where he was responsible for the development of robotics and associated motion control hardware. Wayne has a MSEE from MIT. Lisa Wade, VP of Sales and Marketing In 1984, Lisa Wade became the first employee that Jacob and Wayne hired for Galil. Lisa is responsible for worldwide marketing and sales activities. She implements effective strategies for educating the market about Galil's unique approach to motion control and works to facilitate a technical and helpful environment for engineers to find solutions for their challenges. Lisa received her MSME from UC Berkeley. |
