Hello,

I need to replace existing mechanical Microswitch Limits by new Magnetic limit .
I am using a linear Encoder model VERATUS MicroE ( http://www.celeramotion.com/sites/default/files/Data_Sheet-Veratus_Seri…) which delivers limit outputs (pin 10 & 11 on sensor connector) as open collector circuits that are factory programmable.(See page 8 of brochure)

Configuration must be specify on order Active low or Active HIgh.

I tried to connect directly to DMC40x0 Input RLS and FLS input of axis A (pin 22 & 36) but obtain no detection. Switch limits input are already powered by a 5V on pin 6 and grounded on pin 31 of DMC40x0 I/O connector

Can you please advise how to make proper connection.

Thank you in advance

Best regards

Claude

Hi Claude,

The wiring you are describing appears to be correct. In order to source from the controller you would want to connect +5V to LSCOM on the DMC-40x0's I/O connector as you have already done. Per the documentation the limit switches are configured for either active high or active low operation at the factory. Do you know what the limits are configured for? Are they active high or active low? You can also email me directly at kushalp at galil dot com.
