My 2183 with servo/incremental encoder "sometimes" buzzes attempting to zero the count even though ER=200 and #POSERR never executes.
DMC Smart Terminal/data record/position error shows 0 and -1 rapidly oscillating, velocity and torque rapidly changing.
This happens after a move completes with DMC program running or stopped.
Making a subsequent move typically stops the problem.

Hi mike_trivich,
I would use a current generation software program with a full scope so that we can capture the plot of the oscillations instead of just looking at the values in a watch window. Something like GDK should work great for this.

Additionally, is this at the end of the move? If that's the case, what velocity are you referring to that is oscillating? What values does it show?

This may be a tuning issue, which depends on the system and the mechanics so it would be best to discuss more of this either over the phone or via email. You can call in or email support@galil.com and ask for Andrew to discuss this more.

Regards,
Andrew

Sorry for the delay, I moved and packed DMC.
I just didn't understand the symptom.
I had changed the axis mass.
I did a PID autotune, updated the PID and al'ls well.
