Hi all,

I have a piezo actuator and commercial piezo amplifier which accepts a 0-10V input for position command, and has a 0-10V output for position feedback....

I want to control this via a DMC1840 controller.

Sounds like I need the AF command and I can then connect the 0-10V position feedback to one of the analog inputs on the card. Let's say it's connected to analog input 1, for example. Now my question: what is the DMC code required to read analog input one, and use this value to control motion?

Hi Phil,
Can you call in or email support@galil.com to discuss this application?
Is there a reason why you are looking at using an older generation controller for this?
Additionally, there's some complications since it sounds like the amplifier is expecting a position command, not a torque signal, so is the amplifier the one closing the loop, or is the Galil controller? I would just like to nail down the specific details of the interfacing hardware so we can provide the best solution.

Regards,
Andrew
