Hi,

I recently programmed the GALIL using ELO. (mine is GALIL DMC4143 4 axis)

I'm using it as to make sure the motor cannot ON in any kind of situation

I found out that ELO activation doesn't flag TA3=1, when the motor is OFF previously.

In normal condition if the motor is ON, activation of ELO will flag TA3=1 latched.

eg.
MOA
(I connect the ELO)
MG _TA3 (TA3 here will give value 0.00)

Is there a GALIL command to get the signal from ELO ?

thank you

regards,

burhan

Hi burhan,
Correct, TA3 only reports if ELO has stopped motion and cut power to the drives, so it won't report in MO condition. Under standard feature set, we don't have a way to directly query the state of the ELO input. Is there a reason why a standard digital input would not suffice?

I am also confused a bit as to the purpose and I'm not fully following what your requirements are. There is probably a better way that to use the ELO input. ELO input is a hardware shutdown of the drives, and it's functionality is similar to cutting power to the drives, same as if they had their own power source so that the controller could still remain powered and communicate.

If you would like to discuss this more, please email support@galil.com and include "attn: Andrew" in the email to ensure it gets forwarded to me.

Andrew
