In the Data Record for many controllers (DMC-4000, DMC-30000, ...) in the data for each axis there is an 8-bit item identified as "Axis _ Hall Input Status". I have looked for the definition of the bits within this byte in the controller documentation, command documentation, gclib documentation and the Galil website and have come up empty in every case. What might these 8-bits mean?

Hi Warren,
The data record contains the hall readout, if the controller has an amp that returns hall information. This would be the same as QH.

It is useful for using internal trap drives with the DMC-4000 or using BI/BC method with sine drives on the DMC-4000 or DMC-30012.

Often, this is useful in debugging motion, but isn't used as often in an application. Is there a reason why you need hall information feedback?

Andrew
