Hi,
I am trying to integrate a load cell to a voice coil actuator, controlled by a Galil DMC 31012 control unit, as a part of my university project. The specifications indicate that this DMC unit has two analog inputs. Can I use the DMC unit to power the load cell and to obtain the load readings, without additional external amplifiers or hardware? (The load cell has a recommended voltage of 10 V, which is within the range of the DMC).
If this is possible, what are the commands I should use, to configure the load cell and to read the output?
Please let me know.
Thanks in advance,
Ishara

Hi Ishara,

This would be better addressed in the Connecting Hardware forum. To answer your question, yes you can use the +12/-12V supplies from the controller to power the potentiometer. The Voltage from the potentiometer could be connected to AI1. You would need to configure your analog input using the AQ command, and then query the analog input by using the @AN[1] command.
