I have multiple controllers that I switch between using GalilTools.

I though it would be convenient to type in the description of each I/O point for quick reference. The problem is that I don't see how to make the information stick to any particular controller so for me it is useless. Am I missing something?

That doesn't do what I want:

I have a DMC and an RIO. I open the Watch when communicating with the RIO and fill in the descriptions re: the RIO's I/O assignments. Now, I connect to the DMC and open watch and my RIO descriptions overwrite the corresponding DMC descriptions.

Projects will take care of that feature.

Connect to your RIO. Configure the various options. Then save off this configuration as "RIO.project", for example.

Then connect to your DMC. Configure the tools accordingly. Then save off this configuration as "DMC.project".

Whenever you work with the RIO, open RIO.project, likewise for the DMC and DMC.project.

Understood. However, for me, a project is a machine and that machine could include several controllers. I have one, for example, with three 2183's and two RIO's.

I have now created projects which each use an instance of GalilTools and this seems to work well. They are each connected to their respective controllers and it's just a matter of selecting whichever one I need.

Thank you.
