Hi, I've been using GalilTools for the last month or two and I've found a few things that I think could be improved upon, so I'll post them here so they're out in the open:

1. I would like to be able to change the font in the code window. I use a fixed-width coding font in Notepad, Microsoft .NET, etc, and would like to be able to match my font and size in the Galil program instead of being stuck with what appears to be 10-point Terminal. In particular, it's extremely hard to tell the difference between a '<' and a '(' - that is, a less than sign and an opening round bracket, plus the corresponding greater-than sign and closing round bracket.

2. I frequently find myself accidentally typing in the 'code' window instead of the 'terminal' frame. Would it be possible to highlight the currently active section by a change of background colour or an outline? Maybe switch the inactive code/terminal window to a shade of grey (as long as the text in it is still readable!).

3. The find feature really ought to 'wrap around' to the top of the document if it's already at the end (when searching forwards) or at the top (when searching backwards) and can't find any more results. Essentially, one click would get you to the end, then a second would snap around to the top and find the first result top-down. This brings it more in line with the find features in many other programs, and much more convenient.

4. A more complex feature request would be a 'go to definition' sort of shortcut, where if you say type JP #BOB, right clicking on '#BOB' would present you with a 'Go To' and it would find the point in the program where the label #BOB is defined.

5. I am immensely grateful for the colour-coding of text, but it would be nice to be able to customize the colours.

6. When working on an embedded-type machine with a cramped display, the toolbar buttons can take up a lot of vertical space while there's a vast expanse of unused horizontal space to the right. The ability to hide text labels or move them to the right of the icon instead of below the icon would be great. I'll probably just have to learn the keyboard shortcuts and hide the toolbar entirely...

7. I miss the CAPitals and Syntax Help buttons that are present in DMC Smart Terminal, and would be happy to see their return in GalilTools.

7. Finally, I would really like to see the ability to view the same document in multiple windows so I don't have to repeatedly scroll up and down when I'm working at two points (see Microsoft's .NET, Word, Excel, etc.)

Thanks. Sorry if I sound like I'm whining, but I figured these suggestions would make GalilTools a bit easier to work with.

Erik,

Thank you very much for your feedback. These are great ideas. I will be sure to add them to our design considerations for future versions of GalilTools. Customer feedback helps us make the software more usable and powerful for our customers.
