Some of my servo systems have started acting in a way I've never seen before...They hold position quietly, but if I issue a position command (PA) to their current location, then they shake back and forth.

(1) If the servo is at the exact position as the command, why does it move at all?

(2) What is wrong with my tuning parameters (or amplifiers) to cause this problem?

i some strange reactions once, i made a simple program to move a target down a track back and fourth at user defineable speeds and accelerations. it was working fine for about 40 round trips down the track when suddenly the motor started stopping halfway, then not returning, just doing strange things. when i investigated i found that the servo was hot enough to cause burns to the touch, and eventually realized that the servo i had just didn't have enough torque and was overheating. i've got a bigger one now!
