I saw in the help files that the drivers for GalilTools are not compatible with SmartTerm and WSDK. What about DMCSetup and the DMC32 library?

Also, ever since I updated my DMCSetup and SmartTerm to the latest version on your website, every time I try to run them the Windows Installer for DMCSetup pops up and I have to keep cancelling it like 3 to 10 times really quick in succession and eventually it stops popping up and runs the application. What's up with that?

Thanks,
Ted

GalilTools is not compatible with any part of the older software.

Everything was written from the ground up to leverage the performance features and abilities of Galil's latest controllers.

The Galilx library is a C++ library that will release with the next full release of the GalilTools software.

I believe your installation is corrupted. I recommend uninstalling all Galil software - with the exception of GalilTools - and reinstalling again.

Is there an ETA on the next release? Because I gotta tell ya, I wouldn't have purchased GalilTools if I would have known it wasn't compatible with any of your older software products.

Which controller are you using? Do you already have the WSDK software? Which part of the older software do you require?

We use the DMC32 library in our app, the DMCSetup to register the controllers, we use the WSDK to tune servos, and sometimes we use the Smart Terminal for program development.

PCI or Ethernet Controller?

We use both types of controllers at our company. But a single machine will only use one type of controller.

The only compatibility issue is with the win32 api and PCI.

For Ethernet - GalilTools, WSDK, SmartTerminal, win32 and DMCSetup can all work together (and in some cases simultaneously).

For using GalilTools with PCI, the device driver will require changing when moving from GalilTools to the older software. Note: a restart is NOT required.
