When trying to use the Scope function of GalilTools I get the following error message:
1151 TIMEOUT ERROR Galil::record("DR") took longer then 500 ms to read 190 bytes
Do you maybe know that the problem is?

Are you able to run the scope for some amount of time, or does the error occur immediately?

No, it gives the error immediately

For some mysterious reason the error message disappeared. I really don't know why. Sorry for this!!

Your firewall may have been blocking the UDP traffic from the controller.

The windows firewall was indeed activated. I made sure the traffic from the controller isn't blocked any more. Thanks for the help

Hi
I'm having the same error, unfortunately.
The controller is a 2162, GalilTools was just downloaded, version 1.5.0
I disabled Windows Firewall and the antivirus software does not have firewall functionality installed.
Doesn't matter which mode the scope is set to, upon clicking the "Start" button, the word "Stop" immediately to the left turns to "Arming", the title of the Scope window changes to "Scope - DR Mode", then a moment later changes to "Scope - Timeout Error"
Is there any kind of configuration that needs to be set as far as terminal commands or ethernet card settings?

There is no configuration necessary. Would you mind repeating the test with 1.4.4? I've heard of one other failure such as this on 1.5.0. It may be a bug.

Ok, that seemed to do it.
I first uninstalled 1.5 then put on 1.4; it had the same error.
Thinking maybe a DLL wasn't unloaded, I uninstalled 1.4, rebooted, then reinstalled it. Still had the same error.
I issued a RS to the controller and tried again, and this time it worked.
So whatever the issue is, it seems related to a command that was sent to the controller by GalilTools, perhaps an incorrect timeout or refresh rate?
Thanks for the help! I'll stick with 1.4.4 for now.

The timeout is software-based, 500ms by default.
The refresh rate is sent by the software DR8 for the 21x3.
Could have been a handle problem. In any event, if you see further issues, bump this forum.
