We are using a CDS-3310 to control a single axis servo motor. When the controller starts up it jerks the motor back at least a couple of mm. Otherwise it works fine.
The odd thing is that an earlier batch of controllers that we bought didn't do this. One controller from the earlier batch has a serial number of BH-00144, one from the later batch has a serial number BH-00676.
Any idea whats going on?

Check the OF command (OF?), make sure it returns a 0. You can also have the controller power-up in the motor off state by installing the MO jumper.

Servo motor has temperature of over 100 degrees when operating. A couple have burned up. Circuit resistance seems to be ok. What do you think is the problem?

Have you set TL and TK per your motor specifications? What is the inductance of your motor?

Andy,
FYI, FO returned 0.000. I ended up sticking in the MO jumper and initializing with a SH command.

If you are unsure about these questions, e-mail the model number of your controller and a datasheet to of your motor to support@galilmc.com
