Case 1: I am using DMC-1842 & ICM 2900 to control XY Table. The load encoder (linear encoder) is connect to MA+,MA-,M B+,MB-.
The resolution of the linear encoder is 5μm the ball screw pitch is 5mm
Noted : the rotary encoder feedback is not connect and control by galil card
After a few month later, our customer complaint that the XY table was vibrated at certain position.
Why does it can be happen.

Case 2: Does DMC-1842 support Dual Loop Compensation.
if can what do i need to do if i want add "Improved Dual Loop Compensation" Features.
Do i make any firmware update on the DMC -1842 Card

Pls Advice the case 1 and case 2
thanks

1 - This could be from the system being a little over-tuned for the entire travel of the stage. It could also be the controller compensating back and forth within the backlash of the system. It is a little difficult to say for sure with the information given.

2 - The DMC-1842 supports Dual Loop mode by default. This should help. Start with standard dual loop and see where that gets you before looking at advanced or improved dual loop. See the DV command in the command reference.

hi AndyH

Thanks your info
As you know now i am use DMC-1842 & ICM 2900
So how do i make a connection for Auxiliary Encoder at ICM 2900.

Pls Advice

You need to be using the ICM-1900, and you need the CABLE-26-25. The ICM-2900 does not contain the connections for the Aux encoder inputs.

hi AndyH
but after i read manual , i seen like the DMC-1842 cannot support Aux encoder feedback
Pls advice

The DMC-1842 does support Aux encoders. Where in the manual did you read that it does not?

I will now attempt to remove my foot from my mouth.

You are correct. The DMC-18x2 does not have Aux encoder inputs.

Back to your original question. You will either have to have dynamic tuning for the specific locations on that machine, or you should be able to de-tune the machine a little in order for the vibrations not to occur throughout the travel.

Advanced dual loop requires aux encoder inputs, this is not an option on the DMC-1842.

hi Andy
it ok, i will try on DMC-1886 card . May you send me the improved dual loop framewave version
thanks

hi Andy
after i try DMC-1886 card with Dual Loop Block Features, the vibration look like reduce more more, but we still can feel some vibration ,
hope you can send me the Improved dual loop features to over come this issued.

as i know that, the load encoder only controller by KI, and i believe that with this features we can reduce and overcome the backlash issued.

thanks

E-mail support@galilmc.com and reference this post. We will need to discuss your application in further detail before we determine if a firmware modification is needed.
